Every Meteora song, one pool

TrackClash is a Spotify for Meteora music, with a game on top. A fun side project by @MichaelZogot.

It started with HMC

For years, @Heavymetalcook6 has been writing songs and whole albums about Meteora, and we've all had them on repeat.

Then the LP Army started making music too. The community runs song contests with great tracks in them, but every contest lives somewhere else, and once it's over the songs are hard to find again.

So I wanted one place for all of it: every song about Meteora in one app, and a challenge on top, so we can listen, vote, and let the best songs climb a leaderboard together.

How it works

  1. 01

    Drop your tracks

Sign in with X, upload an MP3, file it into an album. It enters the charts and the Clash right away.

  2. 02

    Heat the pool

Every play of 8 seconds or more heats a track up the charts. Up to 3 plays per listener per day count, so looping can't buy a spot.

  3. 03

    Settle it in the Clash

Two tracks, one vote. Listen to each for 8 seconds, then pick the better one. You never judge your own music.

  4. 04

    Top the Leaderboard

The track that wins the most Clash votes takes the crown. Today, this week, and all time.

TrackClash is an independent fan project. It isn't run, endorsed or sponsored by Meteora. Artists keep every right to their music; uploading only lets TrackClash stream it here.

Responsible for content (§ 18 (2) MStV): Michael Zogot, address as above.

Music and covers are uploaded by the artists, who are responsible for them. If a track isn't the uploader's own work, report it from its menu or email me, and it gets reviewed.

Links to other sites lead to content I don't control. I'm neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.

Privacy

No ads, no tracking cookies, no profiles. TrackClash keeps what it needs to run the charts and the Clash, and nothing else. Here's exactly what that is.

01Who is responsible

Michael Zogot, Germany. Email: mzogot@googlemail.com. See the imprint above.

02Hosting and server logs

TrackClash runs on Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). When you open a page, Vercel processes your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type to deliver it and to keep the service secure, and keeps short-lived logs of this (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; see Vercel's privacy policy.

03Signing in with X

You sign in with your X account (X Corp.). X then tells TrackClash your X user id, display name, handle, profile picture and follower count, and issues sign-in tokens that are stored with your account. TrackClash only asks X for read access: it never posts, likes or follows for you. Your name, handle and picture are shown to other members next to your tracks; the follower count only on your own profile (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR). See X's privacy policy.

04What the app stores

Tracks, covers and albums you upload, with their titles and genre. Files are stored with Vercel Blob and are visible to every member.

Plays, Clash votes and favorites: which account played or voted on which track, and when. They feed the charts, the Leaderboard and the daily limits. Other members see totals, never who voted for what. Favorites are private.

Reports: who reported which track and why. Only moderators see them. If a moderator finds a track was stolen, the uploader's X handle is listed on the Wall of Shame.

Abuse protection: short-lived counters per account that limit how fast plays, favorites, uploads and reports can be sent.

This data lives in a Turso database in the EU (Ireland). All of this is needed to provide the service you signed up for, or to protect it from abuse (Art. 6 (1) b and f GDPR).

05Cookies and third-party content

Only cookies that are strictly necessary: one that keeps you signed in (for up to 30 days) and short-lived ones that secure the X sign-in itself. When you switch the time range on Home or the Leaderboard, a cookie remembers your choice (Today, This week or All time) for a year so the page opens on it next time; it holds nothing else. No analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no banner to click away.

Page views are counted with GoatCounter, which works without cookies. Your browser loads its script from gc.zgo.at and reports the page you opened, the site you came from, your browser type, screen size and country. Your IP address is used to tell the country and isn't stored, and no profile of you is built. It only tells me how many people visit which pages (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). See GoatCounter's privacy policy.

Fonts are served from TrackClash itself. Profile pictures and covers are loaded through TrackClash's own server, so your browser doesn't contact X to show them.

06How long data is kept

Your account and everything linked to it stays until you ask for it to be deleted. Email me and your account, tracks, albums, votes, favorites and reports are deleted. Plays you gave other artists' tracks stay in their counts, with no link to you. You can delete any of your tracks yourself at any time. Unfinished listens are cleared after an hour, and sign-in sessions expire after 30 days.

07Your rights

You can ask what data I hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted, or handed over to you. You can restrict or object to its processing, and complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Write to mzogot@googlemail.com.
